Introduction
Data to Fish is a collection of free data science tutorials with real-world relevance and batteries included: code snippets, step-by-step examples, full datasets.
This is not a paid online course. This is about making data science accessible.
You know how it is with online courses: they take your money and give you pre-recorded videos, an online coding environment and a meaningless certificate in return.
This may work for you until you need to code something in the real world. Often, you end up relearning everything from scratch by going back and forth between Stack Overflow, ChatGPT and various blogs of varying quality, i.e., learning the hard way.
This is what Data to Fish aims to solve. It is built around the following principles:
- Free: No paywall, completely free, always.
- Easy-to-Follow: Self-contained tutorials which include code, data and examples.
- Real-World Relevance: Coding on your own computer and skills that you'll actually use.
Why We are Doing This
We are two data scientists who have found themselves looking up the same stuff over and over again. Thus, Data to Fish was reborn.
As Feynman put it: "If you want to master something, teach it."
